Crete Public School is seeking qualified applicants for the Elementary School Principal position for the 2025-2026 school year. Purpose:
The Elementary School Principal performs tasks assigned by the superintendent and executive cabinet and leads the Crete Elementary administrators and staff in order to provide students with a safe and rigorous learning environment.
Essential Functions:
- Leads the establishment of a vision, mission, and goals for Crete Elementary School
- Provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs
- Provides instructional leadership to ensure student learning opportunities are maximized
- Represents the school administrative team on school district committees as assigned
- Coordinates student teachers and other university observers with the Chief of Staff
- Leads specific departments/programs assigned by the superintendent or their designee
- Positively promotes the brand and branding of Crete Public Schools and Crete Elementary School
- Coordinates with the counselors, teachers, and staff to ensure personalized learning experiences are designed for all students
- Leads the process of interviewing, evaluating, and selecting new staff
- Determines staff assignments and organization of duties and responsibilities
- Responds to specific staff’s questions, concerns, and needs to accomplish specific performance objectives
- Observes and evaluates staff (certified and classified) as assigned and provide direction and support to accomplish growth targets
- Leads the development of professional growth plans for staff and presents information to support professional growth as requested
- Leads the supervision, evaluation, and development of Crete Elementary School instructional programs
- Leads observing and meeting with teachers to ensure instructional programs are implemented with fidelity
- Leads the monitoring of instructional programs to ensure district guidelines are followed
- Leads the registration and master scheduling process
- Serves on a variety of committees to meet educational goals as requested
- Keeps the safety, health, and well-being of students foremost throughout the performance of all duties
- Supervises student activities before, during, and after school
- Communicates with students, staff, and parents behavior expectations and ensures the enforcement of the same, following the district established due process procedures
- Meets with students, parents, and staff to solve and address specific student behavior issues as necessary
- Reports and/or investigates complaints and concerns regarding student safety in a timely manner
- Maintains records of student behavior and discipline as necessary
- Provides financial leadership by monitoring and expending funds and resources provided by the district and other entities according to district policies and procedures
- Provides facility leadership by monitoring and reviewing facilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and the community
- Promotes Crete Elementary School to local and surrounding communities, sharing Crete Elementary School’s vast opportunities afforded to all students and families
- Fosters and grows community relationships to maximize student learning opportunities

Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Education, including Nebraska Administrative Certification
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with students, parents, and staff
