CPS Retired Teacher: $207.31
NEW to CPS Certified Substitute Teachers: + $55 reimbursement for the sub certificate after subbing 7 days
Crete Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for Substitute Teacher positions.
The role of a Substitute Teacher is to ensure that students receive quality instruction in the absence of their regular teacher.
Essential Requirements:
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
- Nebraska Substitute Certificate required
Teaching State Substitute Permit:
Certified substitute teachers are individuals who hold a bachelor degree or
higher in education and have a Nebraska teaching certificate.
The State Substitute Teaching Permit is valid for five (5) years and authorizes
teaching in any subject at any level with an unlimited number of days

Requirements:
- Completion of Baccalaureate Degree
- Completion of a Teacher Education Program at a state approved college or university
- Completion of the Human Relations Training Requirement (https://www.education.ne.gov/tcert/human-relations-training/)
Teaching Local Substitute Permit:
Local substitute teachers are individuals who have completed 60 semester credit hours of college coursework. This includes teacher education students of senior standing preparing to student teach. This permit allows for a student teacher to substitute, with the permission of their educational institution, during student teaching.
The Local Substitute Permit is valid for three (3) years and is limited to ninety (90) days of teaching in any school year. This type of permit is valid for teaching only in the Nebraska school system requesting the issuance.

Requirements:
- Completion of 60 semester credit hours of college coursework
- Completion of a Professional Education Course
- Completion of the Human Relations Training Requirement (https://www.education.ne.gov/tcert/human-relations-training/)
- Written request from the Superintendent for issuance of the certificate for Crete Public Schools

Other Responsibilities:
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Principal
Continuous Employment:
