Position Title: Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Date Available: 2025-2026 School Year

Contract: 186 days 

 

Crete Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, serving ages birth to five, for the 2025-2026 school year. Benefits include paid health insurance, long term disability insurance, and personal and sick leave. This position is open until filled. 

 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with Special Education Early Intervention endorsement OR Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education
  • Nebraska Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement 
  • Satisfactory completion of criminal background check

 

Essential Job Functions: 

 

  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication 
  • Skills in leadership, interpersonal relations, organization, prioritization, problem solving and conflict management, assessment and evaluation
  • Ability to work with students, staff, administration, and parents

 

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, and other professionals to develop Individual Family Services Plans or Individualized Education Plans designed to promote children’s development and address family needs
  • Partner with parents, teachers, and administrators in order to provide home or center based early intervention services as documented in IFSP/IEPs
  • Prepare, schedule and conduct evaluations, MDT meetings, annual and periodic IFSPs, and IEPs
  • Develop a working knowledge of students on caseload as it pertains to providing early intervention services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategies to meet the needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool age children with developmental delays
  • Collaborate with families, services coordinators, and preschool staff to plan and implement individual transition plans for children turning three
  • Work with interpreters to effectively communicate with families
  • Comply with NDE Rule 51 and 52 guidelines
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
  • Participate in regular team meetings including collaborative coaching using the primary service provider model
  • Serve as a model for students and families
  • Relate with staff, parents and community through positive professional cooperation
  • Participate on committees as required
  • Participate in professional growth through goal setting and attendance of district professional development sessions, approved out of district professional learning opportunities, and/or advance course work at institutions of higher learning aligned with professional growth goals
  • Remain current with best practices in early intervention evaluation and service provision including attending required trainings and fidelity checks
  • Periodic evaluations according to State and Board policy and procedures
  • Follow the policies, regulations, procedures, and expectations established by the Board and administration.

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.
