Hourly Pay starts at $16.36 and is based on related experience
Crete Public Schools is seeking applications for nutrition services positions to begin immediately. Benefits include 75% paid single health insurance, paid single dental, retirement, long term disability insurance, and sick and personal leave.

Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Food Service experience preferred
- Work well with children
- First aid knowledge preferred
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
Job Tasks:
- Participates in the preparation of ingredients according to the planned menu and prescribed recipes.
- Maintains production flow by operating dish machines, pot washing areas, and maintaining organized storage of all pans, utensils, storage containers, and other small wares and equipment used in the production facility.
- Ensures the freshness of all prepared items by implementing proper rotation of food items prepared, properly wrapping and labeling prepared food items, and preparing only the amounts of food items as assigned. Complete meal production sheets as assigned.
- Participates and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen, cafeteria and storage areas including but not limited to, walk-ins, refrigeration, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Records and maintains temperature logs for equipment, food production, and food transport according to Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with Federal Child Nutrition Programs.
- Uses and maintains institutional food service equipment such as slicers, ovens, mixers, and commercial dishwashers.
- Stock food, condiments, and supplies and assist with serving students as required.
- Observe all safety and food handling requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service.
Other Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Federal and State USDA regulations and State and local Food Codes.
- Inspect galley equipment, kitchen appliances, and work areas in order to ensure functional operation.
- Develop and maintain a positive, professional rapport with students, parents, and co-workers.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Principal, or other supervisors.
- Participates in professional development activities to meet professional standard requirements.
- Reads and responds to emails pertaining to the position and overall school environment.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by supervisor.
At-Will Position:
- This position is an “at-will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.
