Crete Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants to serve as an on-call Interpreter/Translator. This person is responsible for using their knowledge of multiple languages to help people communicate with one another. This position is an "on-call" position and will be used as needed for interpreting services. This position is opened until filled.
Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Maintain confidentiality matters professionally
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
- Bilingual
Job Tasks:
- Translate verbal communication in real time.
- Responsible for listening to, understanding, and translating spoken or written statements from one language to another.
- Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to communicate conversation. This includes parent-teacher conferences, IEP meetings, and informative parent meetings.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
Continuous Employment:
The relationship between employer and employee is based on mutual respect and consent and therefore, will continue as long as both parties find the relationship to be satisfactory. Reasonable Assurance for Next School Year:
Employees are provided reasonable assurance of continuous employment for the upcoming school year until the position is terminated either by the employee or CPS.
