Crete Public Schools is seeking applications for Health Technician Substitute.
The role of a Substitute Health Technician is to ensure that students receive quality care in the absence of the regular school nurse. The Substitute Health Technician is responsible for delivering health services at the building level in accordance with the Crete Public Schools guidelines and policies. This substitute position is an "on-call" position.
Essential Requirements:
- Completion of Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse course of study
- Current CNA, Med Aide, and/or EMT license
- Experience in the healthcare of children and adolescents
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Eighteen years of age or older
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
Job Tasks:
- Cooperates with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of school children.
- Counsels students in good health habits.
- Assists for care of disabled children.
- Provide first aid and triage when accidents or illness happen at school. Refer to the appropriate health professionals if needed.
- Dispense medications according to the student’s prescription. Store medications safely and securely.
- Monitor health and safety of students and staff.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.
Continuous Employment:
